British summer time is officially here, the clocks have gone forward and the long evenings are stretching ahead. When the sun eventually decides to shine its time to find out those lovely white t-shirts and vest tops. The challenge then is to find the right bra to wear underneath so you arent flashing your lacey lovelies to the general population.
Colour,
Fit, and
Shape.
Colour
The getting the right colour so it doesnt show through is the most straight forward decision you have to make. Time and time again I have ladies who buy white bras to wear under white even though it will show. I dont understand why white shows through under a white t-shirt but it does, so a more neutral tone is advisable.
Neutral however doesnt have to mean nude. If you are pale you can get away with a soft baby pink or peach which you made find more appealing. If you do decide go for nude there are an increasing number of different shades to suit all skin types. They start at a dark caramel colour moving towards soft coffee shades so there should be something to suit everyone.
Fit
The fit of the bra is vital to making sure you have a smooth silhouette with your curves in all the right pages. Nothing is less forgiving than a plain white T for showing up bras that arent doing there job properly. Make sure you are showing off your assets to their best by having a proper bra fitting in a reputable lingerie boutique.
Shape
The shape of the bra depends very much on your shape. It is worth trying on a variety to make sure you have the shape that suits you.
The main bra styles are:
Full Cup this gives you full coverage over the bust and suits most shapes. It will also give you a smooth line if you select one of the many seamless varieties available. The Prima Donna Satin is a great example and its available in both a soft cup and pre-formed.
Balcony this covers of the bust and the line is straight across the bust. These bras tend to be more decorative but it is possible to find something plain and they are most suitable for ladies who are shallow at the top of the bust.
Plunge These bras cover most of the bust but plunge low at the front. Perfect under tops that are cut a little lower and give a flash of dcolletage. The Marie Jo Ines is a lovely plunge T-shirt bra which also converts to a halterneck making it even more versatile.
Whatever style or colour you chose its worth investing in a good quality t-shirt bra as they are worn so often over the summer month and even into the winter under white shirts.
